What to do in winter?

In winter, Ushuaia dawns at around 9 a.m. and gets dark at 5 p.m. To make the most of daylight hours, there are many options.

In the middle of May the ice skating season opens in Ushuaia. The skating rink is located in the city center. Also, climbing 7 km from the city to the mountain, is the base of Cerro Martial, where it is possible to practice alpine skiing or gliding with a snowboard.

From June to October, Ushuaia offers the best snow conditions to enjoy among many sports and entertainment options in the snow.

On the National Route N° 3, there is the Circuit of the Winter Centers in which you can enjoy the different winter sports surrounded by the beautiful landscape of snow-covered Fuegian forest. In each Winter Center you can enjoy alpine skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, dog sledding, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, night bonfires.
